"Energy saving house" project – in search for alternative energy sources

Limited liability company “Optronika”, who specializes in laser optical gadget production, is doing a research about ways to make home energy usage more efficient. Corporation is supported by European Union structural funds, project “Idėja LT “ (Idea Lithuania). Entrepreneurs claim that outcome of the research could help to reduce energy waste in houses and save power not only in Lithuania, but also in the neighboring countries.

Viktoras Vaičikauskas, the director for innovation of “Optronika” says, that: “Our main objective is to unite different energy sources to one unit and distinguish how these sources should be used in particular situations, having in mind climate situation, season change, day rhythm, etc. The results will be used to come up with best solution to stay ecological and efficient.”

The outcome of the research would help to build houses with optimal energy using solutions. Besides that, it would be useful in order to save energy for heating costs, for instance. The plan is to continue studies to create the project of “energy saving house”.

Though ideas of it could be used in North, Central and Eastern Europe mostly, the organizers hope that Latvia, Poland, Belarus, Russia and Ukraine will start cooperation, once the project is finished.
