The Mayor Mr. Lars Bäckström opened the seminar. He and the vice mayor, Mr Hans Lindgren, that has been known for engaging in youth issues were involved in the program during the whole day. They said that they are looking forward to a vibrant forum where the youth can communicate and form ideas on how the municipality should change and develop.

The subject that engaged the most was transports, a lot of youth has to relay on some one else to give them a ride and the communications, foremost at nights was regarded too poor to fit the need of the youth. The day was ended with a dinner and a maxidisco. Next meeting is planned to February next year.

Mr Bäckström added that the youth have an open invitation to come and take part in the discussions in the school council and in the future also the district council and the municipal executive board.
