The seminar that took place on the 19th and 20th of April was held within the framework of the town twinning project “STAND.UP” and was organized by the Association of Local Democracy Agencies (ALDA) in cooperation with the Latvian Association of Local and Regional Governments (LALRG) and Marupe Municipality (Latvia).
Andris Jaunsleinis, the Chairman of LALRG, delivered a presentation on activities of LALRG during the economic crisis: local activities and international priorities. In its turn, Dr. Maris Pukis, Senior Adviser of LALRG, spoke about innovative ideas and successful projects implemented by Latvian municipalities. The seminar was chaired by Per Vinther, the president of ALDA.
The presentations were followed by brainstorming group discussions during which participants obtained new ideas to be used in their work. Furthermore the participants were provided with a possibility to visit Marupe Municipality elementary school and children - youth day centre, or alternatively – a kindergarten of Marupe Municipality.
