TRANS-IN-FORM application submitted

24 partners cooperate on changing rural BSR

Today the TRANS-IN-FORM application was submitted by Bjørn Frode Moen (picture) in Notodden Municipality on behalf of 24 partners and 10 co-partners. The mission is to change and improve peripheral areas of BSR. Rural regions, medium sized cities, towns and villages are looking into attractivity, design, architecture, branding, marketing and governance. In a transnational cooperation partners from more then 20 local communities in 9 countries will make a difference for their hometowns and for the Baltic Sea Region.

TRANS-IN-FORM project is applying for grant from the BSR program 2007-2013. The first step is focused on strategies and technical planning. The second step will focus on implementation of investments for face-lifting the various places. A more sustainable concept and increased attractiveness can transform communities into competitive places. TRANS-IN-FORM will bring ideas from the Charter of New Urbanism and the European Landscape Convention to even peripheral places of Europe. The Northern Dimension of Europe should include both the bigger cities and the rural areas. TRANS-IN-FORM is building on the ideas from projects like PIPE and IC. The general idea is to unlock territorrial potential and strengthen competitivness.
